Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer
Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer
A cross-linked silicone elastomer used to improve the texture, feel, and performance of skincare and cosmetic products. It forms a lightweight, flexible film on the skin that creates a smooth, silky finish while helping to blur the appearance of pores and fine lines. It also absorbs excess oil, reduces shine, and improves the spreadability and stability of formulations, making it especially common in primers, sunscreens, and mattifying products.

Safety: Generally well tolerated by most skin types. It is considered non-irritating and non-sensitising, although very occlusive formulations containing high levels of silicone may not suit everyone.
