Lipids play a crucial role in maintaining skin health and is a key component of the skin barrier. Ceramides and cholesterol are both examples of naturally occurring lipids.

Why it matters: Lipids matter in skincare because they reinforce the skin’s barrier, lock in moisture, and help deliver and stabilize active ingredients. Especially important for conditions where there are lower than 'normal' levells in the skin.
